Ain't Nobody Gonna Make Them Turn Around - Arianna Moya

Ain't nobody gonna make them turn around,

because their tired and battered souls have marched for far too long

and resilience has brought them far too little.

Ain't nobody gonna make them turn around,

because they’re gonna fight until the fight leaves them;

for that blood,

that sweat,

and those tears

were not shed for an empty ending.

Ain't nobody gonna make them turn around,

because united they stand and united they stay

Til’ the very last one of them

are standing beside

those privileged enough to sit down and watch.

Ain't nobody gonna make them turn around,

because that dream of the century,

of our time,

has been imagined,

day after day,

night after night

and that dream has only just begun to take form.

Are we going to let them,

us,

be turned around by the stubborn, concrete walls

that stay stagnant and standing

Are we going to let it keep those entitled to it

from attaining their own freedom?

No, because united we stand, and united we stay,

And the last thing we’re gonna do

Is let them turn us around.
